2009 – Week 5

First Things First

The NFL is buzzing about the remaining undefeated teams which include the Vikes. The next three weeks will be the real proving ground to see how good our greyback… I mean Quarterback… really is.
Meanwhile, the fantasy season rolls on! Who’s up and who’s down? Find out below!
In the League of Champions, Grandma Nancy finally got the production she was looking for out of Michael Turner. The result? A shellacking of Shackelford! Here are the Week 5 scores:
The Phantom Limbs (Peter) – 81
The Tortilla Chips (Darren) – 61
Pacifist Assassins (John) – 98
Assassin Kickers (Eric) – 94
Grandma Nancy (Tyler) – 121
Rusty Shackelford (Aaron) – 69
Mightiest Muffins (Mike) – 81
The Bone Doctors (Chris W.) – 58
The Alchemists (Chris T.) – 70
Russ’ Rowdy Rhinos (Russ) – 57
Fumblecopter (Andy) – 72
Taking Chances (Wayne) – 81
The Assassins won their second game in a row by edging out Eric’s squad. The Muffins beat the Doctors in the first ever Pastoral Grudge Match. The Limbs beat the Chips thanks in part to a motivated Rashard Mendenhall (whom the Chips traded to the Limbs on Saturday). Also, Fumblecopter is still looking for win #1 after posting a good 72 points and losing to Chances (who have now spent their entire waiver budget for the year!).

The Premier League saw some offensive fireworks this week! Here are the scores:
Monday Night (Phil) – 82
Marshmallow Mateys (Cory) – 122
diddy (Jim) – 108
Stalins of Style (Chris A.) – 102
Dead Heads (Nate) – 59
Egon’s Ego (Bernt) – 105
Beer Boys (Hyatt) – 81
Killer Canaries III (Bob) – 69
Kibbles & Vick (Frank) – 83
KRUG Kommanders (Denny/Isaac) – 96
Wyld Stallyns CS (Dave) – 82
Mighty Nimrods (Tom) – 70
First off, diddy needed a big game from Ronnie Brown and a mediocre game from Mark Sanchez on Monday night to pull off a win. Of course, this is Jim Rieke, so both things happened and diddy took home a 6 point win. Marshmallow Mateys are looking scary after putting up 122 points and winning their 4th straight. Their only loss? Week one to …. diddy…. by 4 points. Scary.

Team of the Week
With the stats Phil sent me regarding the big run Marshmallow Mateys are on, I have to hand the award to them this week. It’s a shame they played diddy in week one. I’d like to see a rematch at some point. Will it be in the PM Super Bowl???!

Housekeeping
More big ticket players are on byes this week. Craft your backup plans now for Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami and San Francisco.

Until Next Week,

Commish Peter
