This was another crazy 2020 week in the NFL as MANY teams had COVID challenges to deal with leading up to Sunday. Fantasy managers were scrambling more than usual to fill in for injured, COVID-listed or bye-weeked players! But the games all got played… again… somehow.
And Dalvin Cook was a monster for the 2nd week in a row!
The Vikings beat the Lions for their first back-to-back wins of the year. The Lions had to have seen Cook’s 4 TD game last week, right? What was their plan to contain him on that run?!? For starters….
Well, I’m sure that was a snafu and the coaching staff usually doesn’t make that mistake, right?! Just last week against the Colts, they had 10 men on the field TWICE!
We had some pretty great hurdles this week! First, here’s Eric Ebron helping the Steelers comeback against the Cowboys to stay undefeated:
And here’s Taysom Hill helping the Saints hand Brady the worst loss of his career.
And we had some sneaky trickeration from the Cowboys special teams on this play:
Saving the best for last, we were reminded again this week that the NFC East is a bad, BAD, REALLY BAD division of teams.
And finally, we have this incredible tackle attempt by Philip Rivers following a fumble:
Oh, give me another angle on that, PLEASE!!!
A thing of beauty. Moving on!
Something’s afoot in the LOC! Scores:
HEADLINE: The gift that keeps on giving
After 7 weeks of victories (including vanquishing the curse), diddy has inexplicably lost 2 games in a row! This week he even scored a league-low 68.32 points! Still, it was almost enough to beat Zack who pulled ahead on Monday night when Crowder got a TD for the Jets! Who would have thought that Jets players figured so prominently in a pivotal game!!
HEADLINE: Desperate Times
You know things are bad when you change your name to include “Bad Team”. That’s what Hyatt H was inspired to do this week. But you know things are REALLY BAD when you’re forced to start TWO JETS RBs in the same week!!! Yes, Harper found himself starting Frank Gore AND La’Michel Perine this week in a crushing loss to Caleb (and Dalvin). Nowhere to go but up from here!
Current LOC Standings:
In the PL, the winds may be shifting! Scores:
HEADLINE: Welcome back CMac!
Christian McCaffrey was back on the field this week for the first time since week 2! Aaron didn’t think twice about starting CMac and he delivered with 27.1 points and a win! That’s Aaron’s 3rd win in a row and he’s climbing the standings slowly but surely. With the top two teams losing this week, there’s a golden opportunity for the middle of the pack teams to pounce and Aaron is taking his shot!
HEADLINE: Scrub Up
Mike’s team has a high overall point total even though his overall record doesn’t seem to reflect it. That may be changing now. With another big Kyler Murray game and Davante’s big Thursday night, he clobbered the 2nd place squad and claimed a key victory. Perhaps there’s something to this strategy of letting the early games go and planning for a second half push! But you have to be very active on waivers and Mike has made 38 roster moves to lead his league! And 4-5 now, playoffs are not out of reach for Mike!
Current PL Standings:
The curse hath visited the EL yet again. Scores:
HEADLINE: No Reversal of Charges
The Frinks took a hard loss last week and were given the HFFLUBTotW award to highlight their hardship. And sure, the hope was that a reverse curse would be available, especially because they were playing the top dog in “don’t @ me brah”. Alas, it wasn’t to be. Even though Ron was clearly vulnerable this week, Chris T wasn’t able to swap Kyler Murray in for the injured Jimmy G in time. So the o-fer was offered at QB and Ron claimed a victory with only 72.1 points. EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE EL would have beaten Ron this week.
HEADLINE: Snap out of it!
Dan was riding a FOUR game losing streak when he finally found his stride this week against a formidable opponent in Unstoppable! Dan overcame Brady’s historically bad game thanks to some great WR play with Hill and Jeudy. Tom’s team takes a loss to sink below .500 despite having one of the best overall point totals in the EL. Dan will try to start a NEW streak next week when he faces El Chupacabras, who notched back to back wins this week! Exciting matchup: incoming!
Current EL Standings:
It’s Aaron and the newly-cristened Purple Cobras! Aaron got his 3rd win in a row this week and moved himself into a share of the best record in the PL! It’s an impressive run that deserves recognition! Congrats, Aaron!
The trade deadline is fast approaching! All trades must be completed by this Saturday! If you’re wondering how to go about executing a trade, just ask Ron. He’s completed 3 trades in just the last week!
And as always, keep your eyes and ears out for NFL news as roster challenges are really becoming a daily occurance. We press on with only 4 regular season games left! We can do this!
Until Next Week,
