They doubted us, but now we’re here – at the end of week 12. The longest week in the NFL’s history. Games began Thursday before noon and didn’t complete until Wednesday evening thanks to a bunch of delays for the Ravens/Steelers game. It’s hard to even remember some of these games this much later! But we’ll try to push forward with an off-schedule recap!
On Thanksgiving, the Football Team beat the Cowboys to make the NFC East even more confusing.
And the Lions lost again and THIS TIME they finally decided to fire Matt Patricia, which the rest of the NFC North has to be unhappy about.
From there, it was COVID’s week to shine. The Broncos had to quarantine ALL their QB’s and use a practice squad WR as their starting QB against the Saints! Kendall Hinton completed 1 pass on the day. Well, actually it was more than 1, but the rest went to NO players.
The Chiefs toyed with the Bucs this week and Tyreek Hill was a hurricane in the first half.
The Panthers/Vikings game was as wild as you’ll ever see. Neither team seemed to want to win. The Vikings commited back to back fumbles for TDs.
Then, with hopes to take the lead, they fumbled a punt return and gave the ball back again. And YET, in end the Panthers snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with a missed FG as time expired after Kirk threw a TD to take the lead!
And THEN on Monday night, we got an UGLY Eagles loss and and UGLIER MNF graphic. WHO MAKES THESE ABOMINATIONS!??!!?
Let’s get our eyes bleached by diving into the HFFL! It’s Revenge Week #1!
It’s never too late to try to turn things around in the LOC. Scores:

In week 1, Hyatt saw what was to come. He took a lopsided 30+ point loss to Brian. Heading into week 12, he had managed only 2 wins. With a familiar foe, however, he somehow managed to right the ship and deliver a scortching defeat to Brian (who has to be the ONE Tyreek owner who didn’t win!?). And it could have been even worse as Hyatt had points to spare on his bench! Of course, it’s not all parades for Hyatt from here. His week 12 MVP Will Fuller is suspended for PED’s following this week.
HEADLINE: 2020 is Hindsight
Ben has enjoyed a sucessful campaign and sat in 2nd place heading into this week. His roster was looking good with plenty of high upside players. Then the 2020ness of it all came crashing down over the holidays. Julio? Out. Jonathan Taylor? Covid. Jonnu Smith? Donut. Top tier RB Josh Jacobs? 54 yards and a lost fumble. Yep, Ben’s roster betrayed him big time this week. With Diddy getting back on track, the race for the 2 seed and playoff bye just got a LOT more interesting.
Current LOC Standings:
Forget the curse! It’s time to consider the blessing! Scores:
HEADLINE: The Tank Explodes
Remember last week when we were dabbing up Eli for his 2nd win of the year and how cute that was? Remember how maybe he was cursed and would get destroyed this week? Well for get all that. Eli’s team used Tyreek’s big game and some great kicking to score (checks notes) OVER 145 POINTS?!?! Yes, it’s true and Nick took the L in a big upset for his 5th straight loss! Eli is ascending and could run the table in the consolation bracket with this kind of momentum on his side! Perhaps the tables have turned on the HFFLUBTotW award? Blessing and not curse!?
HEADLINE: Cutoffs Are Back
With the top teams winning again this week, the drama in the PL will likely be found in the playoff cut line. The top 6 teams make the playoffs, so with so many teams sitting right around .500 this late in the season, someone is going to get left out based on point totals. You hate to see it! Finding themselves in that range are Wayne, Mike, Taylor, Eric. It’s a battle royale to avoid the Toilet Bowl! With one week to go, anything can happen!
Current PL Standings:
In the EL, it was pretty easy to spot the big ticket players based on the final scores.
HEADLINE: Hump Day Football
For most games, the winner was determined by Monday night. Not so for Matt and Chris A. Both had important Ravens or Steelers players set for Wed afternoon and projections had their game being tight until the very end! Chris seemed to have the game in the bag thanks to Big Ben and the fact that the Ravens were looking TERRIBLE. But THEN, with under 3 minutes to go in the game, Hollywood Brown caught a 70 yard TD from 3rd string QB Trace McSorley to STEAL the game for Matt! What a wild game! This week must have aged both of these teams by at least a decade.
HEADLINE: Luck Runs Out
It finally happened, a team managed to NOT have a terrible week against Ron’s squad! And it happened to be the 2nd place team The Dominators! Spencer’s was sweating this week looking at his roster as he was without James Conner, Adam Thielen, John Brown, JK Dobbins AND Christian McCaffrey! Looked like Ron was going to eek out another win, but then he left Antonio Gibson ON THE BENCH for Thanksgiving, forfeiting his 31.6 points and handing the W to Spencer! An incredible turn of events! And that means that the ONLY person that has beated Ron this entire season so far is Spencer – TWICE.
Current EL Standings:
It’s Hyatt! Hyatt’s 12th place team got a big W this week thanks to big weeks from a bunch of players. This comes just a few weeks after Hyatt became a dad for the 2nd time! Yep, Hyatt’s shopping for baby boy clothes now! Maybe using his own baby picture would be helpful in that endevor.
Congrats, Hyatt, on your HFFLUBTotW award!
What more can be said about this weird week?? Not a whole lot.
Just remember that week 13 is the FINAL week of the regular season! And there’s a TUESDAY game to be considered. And who knows what other curveballs we’ll have to deal with! All we know is that it will be exciting!!!!
Until Next Week,
