Lots to get to as we head into the HFFL playoffs, but there are a couple of NFL highlights we should cover. Normally the reffing gets talked about when officials make a bad call (or no-call) that’s obviously incorrect. This week, the Chiefs were livid that the refs enforced the rules correctly!
I myself was watching this play live and commented that Toney was clearly lined up offsides. When the flag flew, I was sure that was the call and it was. There’s no denying it. Andy Reid after the game was still quite upset.
He’s sort of right, the officials will respond if players look to them to make sure they’re lined up okay, but Toney never did that. And Mahomes? Well, he was livid.
The Chiefs lost the game and Mahomes will likely be playing his first ever road playoff game. 😮
The Niners beat the Seahawks this week and these two teams definitely don’t like each other.
And yes, let’s talk about the Vikings/Raiders “game”. This game was mostly devoid of highlights because of how little football was actually played. Here’s the defense celebrating a good play.

And incredibly, after an awful “win”, the Vikings playoff odds go way up because the Packers lost to the Giants on Monday night!

📰 HEADLINE: Win and You’re In!
There were a few 6-7 teams with a shot at a playoff berth coming into this week in the LOC. Caleb, however, faced perhaps the toughest challenge: a matchup against top seeded Joe. And yet, Caleb managed to win a decisive victory against the Prophets! So even though Eric M won over Stephen to banish him, he just missed the cut and will fight it out in the Toilet Bowl! Could we end up seeing a re-match of Joe vs Caleb at some point in the playoffs! I sure hope so!

📰 HEADLINE: Coming in hot!
The PL playoffs are shaping up to be awesome! With the exception of Jonah’s 2 game losing streak, the other 5 teams are coming in winning. That includes Tom! Tom’s season has been full of ups and downs, but here he is with a 3 game winning streak and in the playoffs after needing things to break JUST RIGHT. Tom was one of three 7-7 teams so his point total was the tiebreaker to elevate him. That means Rookie and the Weasels are headed for the Toilet Bowl!

📰 HEADLINE: Last Minute Changes
The EL was full of surprises down the stretch, starting atop the standings! Diddy took an L in the final game, dropping him to the #2 seed and handing the top spot to Zack! Even more shocking, Jim’s loss came at the hands of the 12th place Taylor! Maybe Taylor is setting up for an epic run through the Toilet Bowl to the LOC? Elsewhere, two 7-7 teams sneak in – both Peters! Peter C’s Limbs back in on a troubling 4 game losing streak (and will play Luke A for the second consecutive week) while Peter T’s Champs beat Brian easily to steal the 6 seed! Kohl’s cash for the win!

Once again, there’s fear in the G league! High projections mean nothing! This week’s scores:
So we’re down to the final four after Taylor’s team vastly undershot projections and was chopped! Taylor had the highest average points/week of the remaining teams! Yikes!

It’s not an illusion, Michael. It’s Zack T! Zack’s season so far has NOT been a huge mistake. He finished with an 11-3 record and gained the top seed in the EL playoff bracket! We’ll see what kind of run he can make from here!
Now, Seth won the award last week and took a loss this week. However, Zack has a playoff bye next week! Whew!
Okay, we’re into the playoffs now, which means half our teams will be on byes this week! Enjoy a slightly lower level of stress if that’s you.
For the rest of us, the stress ticks up a notch! Especially because there are a bunch of Saturday games to worry about! Take extra time with your rosters this week to make sure you don’t miss anything!
