The NFL playoff push is in full swing and Saturday night’s game was HUGE for the Lions and Cowboys. Late in the game, the Lions drove down the field and scored to tie the game. BUT WAIT! Dan Campbell actually decides to go for 2 and the WIN! Gutsy. But they convert it on a cool play to an O-Lineman! But WAIT! A flag is thrown and the NFL fanbase descends into a vortex of eligible receiver rules! Here’s an explainer for the nerds like me:
The Lions got shafted here, clearly. But they still opted to go for 2 TWICE MORE due to a penalty on Dallas and STILL didn’t convert. They lost the game.
And the fallout continues:
The Giants also had a chance to upset the Rams after this insane special teams punt return TD!
Incredibly, they went for 2 and the win and also didn’t convert!
Elsewhere, the Ravens are looking VERY scary.
The Bears won again AND claimed the #1 pick in next years draft because they own the Panther’s pick and the Panthers lost again! Carolina owner David Tepper is … displeased.
And finally, yes, the Vikings lost at home to the Packers in a debacle of a game. But really, this revealed that the Vikings season was over way back when Cousins tore his Achilles at Lambeau in week 8. The Packers, meanwhile, are mathematically alive for a playoff spot. Or as a local TV station put it…

📰 HEADLINE: The Prophecies have been Fulfilled!
Joe and Nick played a very entertaining and high scoring LOC Super Bowl! It’s just that Joe was really, REALLY good this year. After a concerningly low point total in the semis last week, Joe was back with a vengeance and put up 148.7 points to dispense with Nick and claim the LOC trophy! The Dak/Ceedee stack from Saturday set him up nicely. This is Joe’s first Super Bowl win in his 6 seasons in the HFFL! Both of these teams will be invited back to the LOC, along with Caleb, who beat Aaron W (with Jaren Hall in at QB!).
From the Toilet Bowl, we’ll have Eric M back to the LOC after a narrow win over Ron R in the Toilet Super Bowl! Like a bad penny, Eric always seems to be in the LOC?

Welcome to the top, Spencer! In his TWELFTH season in the HFFL, Spencer has finally won a Super Bowl! The A+ draft grade from Yahoo actually paved the way for a dream season where Spencer rolled up 9 good wins and then upset Andrew’s #1 seeded team to take the trophy! Joining the two top teams in the LOC is Nick L! Nick had an outstanding campaign and beat Tom in the 3rd place game to clinch an LOC invite!
And then there’s the PL Toilet Super Bowl, which pitted Mike against Chris T! Chris, who finished the regular season in 11th place, stormed through the Toilet Bowl and upset Mike by 4 points to win the golden ticket! Chris will walk into the LOC after salvaging a 4-10 season!

📰 HEADLINE: What Could Have Been…
The EL bracket stacked up rather nicely … for the mid-tier teams apparently. When Greg slipped to 3rd place, it set up a match with Jim R in the semi-finals last week. Greg won, but Jim would have beat both Zack and Peter C on the other side of the bracket! This ultimately resulted in a Peter C vs Greg K super bowl that Greg dominated easily. Meanwhile, Jim annihilated Zack in the 3rd place game with 152.36 points! Greg gets the trophy, Peter gets the LOC, Jim gets a ticket too and Zack is relegated after an 11 win season!
Down in the EL Toilet Bowl, it was Seth R vs Jacob W in the Toilet Super Bowl with a golden ticket on the line! And just like he did for the Browns, Joe Flacco elevated Seth! A down week at a bad time for Jacob plus a good game for Seth means we’ll see Seth in the LOC!
FINAL EL Standings:
In the G-League, it was Peter C vs Caleb Z for all the marbles! Who could make the right roster moves to field the bigger juggernaut team!??!
Well, Ceedee set Peter up nicely on Saturday, but who would have thought that it would all come down to kickers and defense?! That’s right, The Phantom Necks moved ahead thanks to the Bills Defense and Harrison Butker! For Caleb, McCaffrey ONLY scored 11 and Kelce continued to disappoint, leading to a final chopping.
